I have a turkey tube on the way. Has anyone used one? do you like it, or recommend it? Is there any tricks to using it? any help is appreciated.
Thanks, mike

I use them quite a bit, especially on windy days and when I want to gobble to a bird (PRIVATE LAND ONLY!!!!!!--safety concerns). The biggest trick to them is getting the diaphragm to the right tension. Trial and error is about the only method, unless you go to a Primos, which is a very good call, especially for a beginner.
As close as we are to the season, don't expect to master it this year, unless you want to drive everyone in your house nuts. It's one of those things that just takes time and practice, so don't lose your patience. Lip placement is the root of getting the hang of the different notes and calls, along with "talking" through the call much as you do with a mouth yelper.
Good luck with it.

Walter Parrot would be a great example there. Harold Knight showed a hunt where walter was calling with the K&H widow maker... i couldnt believe how realistic that call sounded when in the hands of a true turkey talker.
