I bought a new Knight and Hale diaphram call this weekend and it is great. It is the first mouth call I have ever bought that I could get straight out of the package and do any call I wanted with it. Usually you have to break them in a little. I cant remember the name of the call but it is a four reed and has some cuts in it.

I like most of the ones I have, but I can say one I don't like is called the Tone Trough, or something like that from H.S. Strut I think. I have a few Quaker Boy ones, a Beginner's Double and a Triple Pro I think, and another triple one from H.S. Strut I believe. Just got a 4 pack yesterday from H.S. Strut that had a little variety and included the first ones I've used that have cuts/slits in the latex, and I love them. Gives a lot of different sounds then I could with the regular plain ones. I don't know what exactly they were, but something like the old raspy hen, the dirty girl, some v thing, and 2.5 cutter or something like that. I don't know names for sure, but I'll look tonight.

Knight & Hale's "half moon cutter" is the only mouth call I use...great for all calling!

I prefer the "stacked" calls from Primos. They come in either double or triple reed and sound great. I too can take these straight out of the package without any trimming and use them. I highly recommend them.

In general I like Quaker Boy the best, specifically my favorite is a Lohman. It is a competition call and looks like a turkey fan. Makes real good sounds.

The best mouth call is the one you can use!! I have one that has a rigid cover over the latex that is a great call from primos. The cover seems to keep the call in the proper place. If you can find one I highly recommend it. Remember to practice, practice, practice.
Good luck!!

My favorite is a Raspy Red made by Run & Gun Game Calls. They're out of WV and sometimes a bit slow getting them out, but they're by far some of the best calls I've tried.

Quakerboy Screamin Green and Preston Pittman Black Gold. I like green latex stacked 2-4 high with a cut away on top. I'll keep a 2 reed around for higher pitched less raspy sounds.

Skindog and Cornbread gave me one with green latex that sounds good too.

Once you use a diaphragm call from Legacy, you won't want to use anything else. My favorite is the 4 reed split V "Leading Lady" followed closely by the 4 reed "Fatal Attraction".

I like the stacked Primos calls. Gives a good raspy sound. I have never been that great with mouth calls, but I feel like I can do OK with the Primos.

I have 5 mouth calls. All of them i like. I have the 3 pack from primos. It includes all 3 calls from the diamond cut series (i love each call!). I also have a call from madd calls (im not sure what it is) and a red colored call (i have no clue who makes it, lol!) I would like to buy a K&H mouth call, but i dont have enough time to run to unclelees and walmart doenst carry them. I think the next call i buy would be the widow maker tube call from K&H. Ive heard good about all QB calls. You need to get a call thats fits your preferences.

I liked the cane creek lost poult until I started making mouth calls myself. I threw out about 20 different mouthcalls this season(some of them new) just to make room for the ones I make. I've got a raspy 2 reed(unnamed as of yet) and a 3 reed prophylactic that are my favorites. Also have a 3 reed cutter that makes extra loud cutts for locating. I'm a mouth call addict and have fouind it hard to not go out and buy everyone I see. I've tried most except for some opf the gimics. I plan on developing a stacked frame, but the ones with hoods and covers never seemed to work right for me.

The diamond cutter is my ol' faithfull, I'm really hooked on the Q-Boy call I mentioned earlier.

I've tried that Primos "Raspy Hook" call with the sheild/hood. It makes sounds ok, but seems too high pitch, I can't get it to break easily either. Holler when you come up w/ a stack frame, I'd like to try it.

My favorite are the made by Hunter's Tech and are called the Tiger Shark series. I cannot find these calls anywhere, so if anyone can tell me where to find them I would appreciate it. The calls sound great. I searched the Internet but could not find anything about them.
