I have a Remington 870 SP and i am shooting hevi-shot number 6's. It patterns like a champ at 30 yards, however there in only one problem..the dang thing is hitting consistently right by about 6 inches. The center of the pattern isnt hitting the head. As a test i had 2 other people shoot it and had the same results, so the next shot we held a little to the left and it did perfect. I really do not want to hold to the left of a turkeys head while hunting so is there anything that can be done about this????

2 things, scope/sights or sent your gun to rhino and let them bend the barrel.

They make a choke now that goes on on the gun that has an adjustable sight on it. It is made for people that shoot to one side or the other. But I don't know what it is called.

I have the undertaker plus, and it has 3 sights you can stick on it, and you can move it to the right or left if you want. There is a short, medium, and tall sight that you can chose from.

Get a red dot you'll love it but stay away from BSA get a tasco at least.

Bending the barrel is the best way to fix it permnantly. You can also hone it on the alee side of the way it's shooting off. It's common practice to do both on trap guns when needed. But the 870 is very easy to scope up, just be careful with the eye relief.:D

I had a buddy that shot a berreta that was shooting the same way. He changed choke tubes and it shot straight. So apparently the choke tubewas probably threaded wrong or crooked

Is there any way that I can bend the barral safely by myself, and if so what do you recommend?? How far to bend it? etc.

born2hunt,
was it doing this before you started shooting hevi-shot??? I would change choke tubes first before bending the barrel or try shooting some other shells through it to see if it still shoots to the right.
