I saw them, I saw them!!!

Well went out to shoot the gun this morning around 10:30. Got down to our land and saw a turkey. Got the binos up and can see his big thick beard swinging back and forth as he's walking. Then over the rise in a hill I could also see the tops of two fans, so I backed up and 2 big toms were all fanned out and strutting. Real pretty one that had some real white ends on his feathers, which I hope is the same one I saw last year. But they kept at it and all of a sudden a fourth gobbler came strutting up to join them. My girlfriend was along so it was good that she got to see such a show. Then in the field across the road by the woods was another gobbler. He'd walk 50 yards, fan out, walk again, fan out. It was fun and the girlfriend was even excited by it all. Heard one gobble around 11 when we were back by the woods looking for our set up spot for Wednesday. I'll be out listening the next two mornings if it works out to get a better idea.

If I can ever afford to buy my own land I'll be happy to send out some invites, but right now I hunt on my uncle's land, and I am not allowed to bring others along to hunt, but maybe some day. But the season seems bright right now, turkeys out and about, gun ready to go, got all the calls out and ready to go, weather supposed to be good, so I hope things aren't looking too good and it's going to be a flop. But I guess I don't think sitting in the woods for 5 days, turkey or no turkey, would be bad.
