View Full Version : Saw a strutter this afternoon.
For the second day in a row I have seen a mature bird displaying himself for all to see. The one yesterday afternoon was the same bird that I called in for timp1's son. We was in the same field strutting and gobbling his fool head off. This afternoon I saw one on my mom and step-dad's farm. He was with 8-10 hens and loving every minute of it. So was I! He never came out of strut fully for the 5-10 minutes that I was riding around on my four-wheeler. He acted like he could care less if I was there or not. He never gobbled but put on one heck of a show. Is season ever going to get here?!

Love to see them display for the ladies, never get tired of hearing them gobble neither. I have been seeing a couple strutting myself, while checking my cams. Had one coming down a logging road as I was walking out, gobling the whole way, He was at 35 yards when he gobbled at a few hens coming up the hillside, i just set and watched him go into full stru and go down the hillside to join the hens. Great morning to be in the woods.

Readin this sure isn't helping me any. Have yet to see my first gobbler in strut this year. Hope to cure that this weekend though. Looks like some great scouting weather!
