This will be my first spring hunt and I am wondering where most of you find birds during the midday hours? ridges, hollows, etc(other than "in the back of my truck, vest, etc.")
thanks in advance

Depends on the weather. If it is a cooler day, and the sun is out, I would head for the fields, they'll be out getting some sun. If it is hot, they'll probably be in the woods more, and you might want to check out the creek bottoms which are usually a little cooler. If it is windy, I would check the fields again, unless you know of a spot that a big ridge or hill would be blocking the wind in the woods somewhere. If it's raining, they could be anywhere. Try to do some scouting before season in different weather conditions to see what the birds prefer and when they prefer it.

actually i did alittle scouting in LBL yesterday with a friend that got drawn for the quota hunt, I found some good morning spots but was more curious about midday because if I get to go during regular season I like would to stay out all day some of these spots take alot of walking just to get there.

Some birds will have strutting areas back in the woods. Either just a little opening in the woods or an old logging trail or something where they can strut in the sun and the hens can come check them out, and they don't have to be out in the middle of a field.

If it is raining look in the fields. If it is sunny and warm most folks forget about dusting holes in the middle of the day.

I'd say Sixpack has you on the right path.
