I got a survey every year when I bought my migratory permit. It ask how many ticks I saw during the previous season I believe...... I get mail from every outdoors mag in the world and two from Japan......if I poach a deer, every gamewarden in the lower half of the US will be at my door at the exact address in only a matter of minutes,.....................why is it that I didnt recieve some type of freakin notification of the xbow issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an address,
A phone,
a cell phone,
a job,
a friend, (one that is)
parents,
old addresses,

What the hell.......whats the problem!!!!

Maybe you didn't read the agenda of the meeting. Maybe you ain't any more important than 100,000 other Ky hunters. Why the heck would they inform you personaly. Surely you don't expect special consideration? Oh I forgot, you're an "Elite" bowhunter. ( my apologies to those bowhunters like myself who don't see the evils of xbows)

Wheres the survey, and how come we all didnt get one?
I could really care alot less at this point if you get the laws or not, but I want to know Wheres the freakin survey???????

The survey has been posted HERE several times, so in fact anyone wanting to see it has had the chance??? (maybe NOT when YOU'D like to ....)

We all care(or should), when(as in this case) ELITE is taken to mean "my way is the ONLY way" "I'm better than you not only as a hunter, but as a person" etc. etc.(NOT everyone has that opinion, but for those who do, "ruin" it for others who side with them???)

As far as it getting changed (again), well, after talking to several retailers (sporting goods ), they are certain the increase in sales will speak for themselves as one put it today " I'd be more worried over being hit by a meteor, than them changing it back"

Most sales BTW seem to be older/and teens which IMHO is a "good thing" for all of us!

Now does anyone honestly believe AFTER it's posted on the web site, and sales are derived from THAT, somehow, it's going to simply revert back??? If so, than I honestly hope you're not buying any real estate any time soon!

Thats kind of the way that I am starting to feel. I think, I could stomach the fact that a cross bow might be on a WMA a little better if I thought that everyone was informed of the issue early enough for them to think of the effects. I've talked to several hunters and not just bow-hunters and they have no freakin clue still about the cross bow issue. Hmmm its almost like it was a done deal before it was a done deal. Know anything about that anybody???

You couldn't have expected him to take a survey in 2002 nobody had notified him of the severity of the questions. And if he had taken it he wouldn't of expected it to mean anything unless it worked in his favor.

IF you can call studying something since 2002(and by much more qualified individuals I dare say than any of us here at that)... "hasty", then maybe YOU have a point? I can't see how that's possible,
You're entitled to FEEL that you're better than anyone else; (so I can't see what your point there was? Do you?).....(but again that's an opinion of which I'm not the least bit interested in; now FACTS ; there's a different matter; have any of those?(other than the fact that YOU weren't surveyed?)(in 2002 at that??)

Keep in mind not so long ago, compounds were faced with the very same "fears"; and we all KNOW they sure took all of the deer!!!!!!

The people in charge of our hunting ; use FACTS/DATA not opinions in their decisions; some aren't always going to like the outcome of EVERYTHING they do; but admit that overall they do a SUPER job(so much so that many other states are starting to imitate us), and as we all know that is the sincerest form of flattery!

This " haste" rumor has NO merit; the study was done over many months, yet some want to say it was "railroaded by"????? Impossible to "rush" something by over a period of several months ???? As always the FACTS are clear, and some want to "have their own way" by spreading things like this; without checking for themselves(and in the "information age" , it isn't that hard to find FACTS ; if you're willing to look, and accept them)

The crossbow has been around for centuries, to say it isn't archery ........c'mon face it using one still makes you a bowhunter(or not using one if you so choose).....

Choice is good.
More hunters that's good!
More interest in OUR sport=good
More $$$ from sporting goods sales=good
"Bashing" other hunters= NOT good!
For everything else there's Master Card!

IT was a SURVEY and by defintion only a certain number of hunters receive them. If you're going to argue your cause you better find something better than that.

Thats the way i feel about you guys with this xbow issue. Maybe they just did not get their way when they were kids. I see it like this:

Daddy Daddy why can't I have an Xbow like Joe!
Well son its common sense. Joe lives in Ohio where they have accurate deer population #'s cause they still check their deer in at a check station. Also they don't hammer the herd with HP rifles for three weeks!!! And their season isn't near as long!

That would make more sense for the anti-x-bow group, since they are the ones that "didn't get thier way"????

BTW what do FEELINGS have to do with anything???? Are feelings facts or data? Didn't think so, I still am not getting any relevant data or facts as to why this is so bad, yet I've shown(and others have as well) why it IS so GOOD!

Obviously, you haven't been paying attention. Our deer biologists say that we won't put any additional stress or pressure on our deer or turkeys. HP rifles don't compute. It's not relevant to any discussion on this subject. We'll be hunting with crossbows here soon enough, and then Ohio will be like us.
