Since almost all of us have a pickup truck how about we form a group of like minded individuals who don't want to share the roadways with all those smaller and pesky sedans and motorcycles. It won't matter a wit to us that the roads can easily handle the traffic if all vehicles shared the road. We just think our mode of transport is a lot "cooler" and don't like the thought of a non pickup truck being out there with us when we are on the move. If we can't get the Transportation Department to agree with us we will immediately contact the Governor and Legislature. That will fix them transportation fools and we will feel the better for it since "truck drivers" were under attack and we turned the tide. If we feel magnanimous we will reluctently agree to allow the other traffic to use the roads late at night (we'll call it the tag end of the driving season) and, of course, embrace anyone that displays a handicap sticker. We're just that kind of guys.
Our group, the UPTDK (United Pickup Truck Drivers of Kentucky), although only less than 1000 strong, will speak for all pickup drivers. Non residents, even if they restrict their driving to federal interstates or the LBL Trace, will get no voting rights or priviledges. They should be just tickled pink to know we allow them to drive through our state. Remember our license plates say how friendly we are and we want to keep that hoax alive.
Maybe not a completely fair comparison UBK but close enough. Almost forgot to add the standard IMHO.

I've been thinking of starthing my own group. Name' s gonna be the UAGK! I figure we loose more hunting ground per year to one type of developement. This particular extra curricular activity is WAY more expensive than hunting, reserved for the good weather months for the most part, and ruins hunting on hundreds of acres of prime ground with the opening of every one! Yeap, you got it! The United Anti Golfers of Kentucky! Now offering free memberships!

Golf courses offer great places to hunt, so I'd be against your idea....not that that is any thing new.

Ahh man I sold my truck.
Now I don't get to be in the club.
What if I weld my utility traler to my sedan.
Is that close enough?

Maybe we could allow SUVs on the roads one week in Dec. They are not "real" trucks.

SUV's owners are slobs! Not real trucks. They have air condition and AM/FM radio's with Cassetts or CD's. If we let that group in everyone would buy one the roads would be over crowded and the turkey would die off never to be seen again.
No now I think it's only fair that we limit the truck group to those without AC or Automatic transmission and they can only have 8 track working on 1 speaker. No cubholders of any kind. And the ash tray better be dirty and filled with cigaretts.
Now thats a truck that should make everyone just not want to drive and those of us purists truck owners could rule the road.

Willie and Shogun - sorry but no SUVs or any look alikes - we have to keep our group pure. Even though my last pickup was at least 80% easier to drive than my original 1972 Chevy I have to draw the line. Anyway I've heard that if I'm struck by an SUV I'll most likely be crippled rather than killed outright. Since I'm living in Florida, and haven't executed a living will, I know that would allow my wife to tell a judge that I would never want to live crippled. I would then get to experience a euphoric 2 weeks of water deprivation and starvation before going to meet my maker. Can't allow that - NO SUVs in my club.
Sorry about the last but I have other quest other than the crossbow and when I'm in "Alamo" mode don't want to leave any bullets in the bandoleer.
