Dear KDFW,
I am really getting worried about the deer population in Rowan county. Two years ago I was seeing deer just about every time I go in the woods and now I am lucky to see a deer in 2 or 3 outings! My job takes me through Rowan, Carter and Boyd county each day on I64. I can remember seeing deer just about every day on my way to and from work and now they are few and far in between. Most of the deer I see now is in Carter county near Boyd. I am a firm believer in controlling the deer population if the deer population is out of hand. Believe me...the deer population in Northeastern part of this state is far from being out of hand. Come see for yourself. Does anyone in Frankfort see this drastic decline? If so, are you considering taking these counties out of the Zone 1 status? You should be. If these counties are left in Zone 1 status, I am afraid my children will have no deer to hunt.
