I put my cb out last night for the first time and it turned out to be a good one.i put it on a small lot that we are going to built a small cabin on.I have a horn trap set up on it with a feeder. so i put the cb on it,when i came back to check it i had 58 pics took on it.:)so i am one happy camper with the cb. I got from 1 to 6 deer in the pics,no horns tho,one looks like it could be a buck but iam not sure.if some one could tell me how ill(try)to put some of them on here.

For the picture, it should say something like:

http://www.hunt101.com/123212jpg.com

Then you can either just paste that on the thread or put:

blahhttp://www.hunt101.com/123212jpg.com

and it will put it right on the thread for you

(you don't need the blah in front of the http, just had to do it so it didn't think it was really a picture)

How do you paste to the thread instead of typing the whole thing?

That camera sure takes nice pics. I made one last fall with a sony P41 and pix controller, but if I can swing the money before this fall I would like to get me a cuddeback for sure.

i was thinking about trying to built one but i wasnt sure if i could so i just got the cuddeback.was that one hard to built?and how do thay work?

Bandit

They are not hard to build, the only problems I had was (eye sight failing me) getting the small ribbon cable just right in plug inside camera. If you like tinkering with stuff you get alot of satisfaction out of building you own.

Advantage of building one this way is in off season you can take the camera out and use it just to take photos with.

Dis-advantage is that the price of the P41 was pretty high when I brought it. I believe I gave $184. + tax at wally world, then you have to buy case and controller. Which will put you well over $200 in the unit.

You will get maybe 100-150 pics on one set of AA's with is not bad for a home built.

By the post I have read on here the cuddeback is real good as far as battery life. I'm saving up now to buy one off the site I posted above, they only have 5 left and I'm sure they will sell out before season gets here or raise price.

Bandit, where did you get the instructions on how to build your trail camera.

Has anyone heard how the picture quality of the Stealth Cam digital compares to the Cuddleback? The Stealth Cam has a $50 rebate so I was leaning toward their camera, but don't want to be sorry if the pics are no good.

I built this camera for around $200. It is a 4.1 megapixel. Using a Sony p-41, BG1 board and otter 3000 enclosure.

I bought my controller from pixcontroller.com They also have instructions on their website on how to build them.

Just a word of advise don't build a game cam with the Olympus D-395, it eats batteries,.. unless pixcontroller has done something to fix them problem since last fall.

Maybe hag's has a better controller for the D-395

CSS Archer where did you find the P41 so cheap? or maybe the price has came down on cameras since last fall.

Just my 2 cents, the P41 is the best camera on the market today to use in a homebuilt.

If you can find a wal-mart that still has them they can be had for as low as $100. I've picked up a couple for $125.

The p-41 is an awesome camera, great flash range and I've gotten a month and 300 pics on two AA batteries at below freezing temps.

I'd rather have a homebrew than any commercial cam, if something goes wrong it's easy to figure out.

CSS Archer which plans did you use to build your camera and how did you get Wal-Mart to reduce the price on the P41s? I know they are closing them out but my local Wal-Mart manager said she couldn't reduce the price. This was even after I showed her a receipt that was posted on the internet where a guy bought three for $125 each just like you did.

I used the plans on hagshouse.com different wal-marts do different things, I picked up 2 p-32's at a walmart recently for $60 each, got one at circuitcity for that also.
