never been waterfowl hunting before but i've heard great things about it. the only problem i have is where to start. i know nothing about. how do you know a lake is good to hunt on? and you must either have a boat or a dog, correct?[B)]

find someone that has alot of experience alot of gotta knows in waterfowling limits, laws, duck id,set up ,calling (least important)
BUT when you go be prepared to get hoooked...well if you have a good day
sittn and freezing and not seeing anything isnt much fun for a new fowler...What part of the state are you in? im sure someone on here is near you to offer some help/advice or even tak you along...

i live in louisville, but i had once talked with a guy that said that fowlhunting is addictive, and pretty fun. but sitting all day and freezing my butt off ain't a real big thing. i do it when i deer hunt, and i love to do that. even when i don't see nothing or don't harvast a deer. to me it's the whole point of being outdoors. i would like to try it out and might just make it part of my life i have deer hunting.

I know how a crack addict feels, becuase I am addicted to quack. The worst thing about being addicted to quack is you have to go threw almost 10 months of withdraws!!!!! I have quit deer hunting, gave up the bird dogs. Now I have labs and only duck hunt with some ocasional turkey hunting.Duck hunting is the ultimate in hunting!!!!! Where are you from, becuase The Central Kentucky Hunting Retriever Association would like to have you come out to one of our events. Check us out at www.angelfire.com/ky3/ckhra. A good DUCK DAWG and DUCKS workin the dekes, it don't get much better.
This is the day which the Lord hath made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
