Newbie attachment question

Please forgive this question that has probably been asked many times.
I want to post an attachment that is larger than the 39k max. What steps do I have to go through to do that?
I have read the various threads here, but still don't know.

You will have to upload the picture to a different site. I use hunt101.com, but other ones are awesomeantlers.com, and photobucket.com. Find one that works for you, upload it there, and it will give you a URL. Then you can either post that link for us to click on, or you can post it like this:

blahblahblahpicturehunt101.com/121131jpg

Bobelk, are you asking how to resize the picture to get below the max byte size? You have to do that with MSEditor, or something similar. Whatever program you are uploading pictures with will allow you to resize either by byte size, pixel size, or in inches, like 4"x6" or so on. Hope this helps.

i use photobucket.com it will resize them for you after you download the pic to their site if it is still to large you can click the edit button and resize it again
