Jimmy, please show me where I EVER insulted you on this board. Here was my post for you.
"he was too busy at galyans and deleting people at fishin.com. Jim, here's a copy of a post you made at your site. Clearly, by your first sentence, you knew there was going to be a possible law change. Why didn't you get the word out to all of your uninformed anti-crossbow constituents if you knew about it?"
How is this an insult? I just posted a quote from your fishing board, your own words to disprove what you said on here. I have seen you post countless times how busy you are at work (granted, the name of your workplace has changed, and I erred on that). You say that in tons of your posts at your website, so again, it's what you have said. Deleting people at fishin.com also keeps you busy since you do it so much. I know because I have had threads deleted there by YOU. Please stop calling me out for something I didn't do. Post proof of where I bashed you, please. I don't speak for "digits or whillikers". Until you post proof, I don't want to see my name grouped with others as insulting you, your friends, or your family which is total hogwash.

Out of context.. and leaves out the fact I suggested an EXTENDED crossbow season NOT Crossbow run WITH Archery when I said that....
People will chose the easier format.. they will in the majority of cases not buy BOTH archery and crossbow.
I want to see the tradition of archery promoted.
We dont run Gun Season with archery.. (Well you can still use your bow.. )
We dont run Black Powder with gun..
We did NOT run Crossbow with archery...

Lol, please post where I did that. Others might have, I didn't. Also, I haven't posted at fishin.com regularly in around 3 years when you were the chief deleter. I have never cursed or flamed either, just disagreed with some of your nonsense. I have never deleted many posts and ONLY those requested to be deleted. Going on any group of discussion boards eats up to much time UNLESS you have a good reason to make a post. Deletions were made when I got a notification FROM OTHER users of the site.. 90% of the time.. Sorry that the OTHER users found you to be abusive or out of line.
Not knowing who YOU are prevents me from knowing what your motives are or why you might be trying to drag me into a discussion on your posts..However the post above is NOT quoted.. In there some where was the "Giving Lame advice to customers at Galyans" and other such CRAP.
I am sorry that people did not like your posts. However I have never deleted posts unless they were against the rules which are VERY simple to follow. We deleted only for Cursing, or Flaming, or for outright slander..
If you want to have a Discussion leave my LIVELIHOOD, and my Work out of it. It has nothing to do with the subject.
Being in charge of the site makes me visible.. and an easy target..
Working with Jim Strader also puts me out there..
Using my work at Galyans as a source for your CRAP here is out of line, and if Galyans still existed would threaten both my job and my livelihood. I can not make such comments about YOUR workplace or your WORK since you hide behind a Monniker here.. NOR WOULD I.
I have not in any way attacked anyone here, threatened their livelihood, or anthing else.
I HAVE tried to promote my stance and why I am taking it concerning the use of Crossbows as Archery Equipment. It is my right as a citizen to do that.. however disagreeing with YOU, Digits or WHillikers will get me insulted, my workplace mentioned in a negative way, and attempts by you to harm my work and income.. GREAT.
I have stayed on track and on course..
I have not strayed into the insult laden fray..
I have learned over the 51 years that I have been around that if they cant BEAT you then they will BLAME YOU, INSULT YOU, PUT WORDS IN YOUR MOUTH, and then if that does not work bring into question your work and your way of making a living.
Its easy to shoot at a target thats visible.. I post my name..
You, Digits, Whillikers dont..
OH and by the way.. what is it that Digits now sells on his website.. I have heard rumors but I dont know for sure..???
Just curious..
I have no Agenda..
I am not profiting from my stance..
I have not lowered myself to use YOUR tactics..
IF you want to hunt during Archery Season with Crossbow.. contact your Commissioner
IF you DONT want to contact your commissioner...
Lets put this in the hands of the sportsmen where it belongs.....

Please find where I said this "However the post above is NOT quoted.. In there some where was the "Giving Lame advice to customers at Galyans" and other such CRAP."
I have never said it. Jim, you posted 5,000 times in the past how hard you work at Galyans and how it was hard for you to get off work for hunting trips, cleaning up the lakeshores with groups from fishin.com, etc. You posted that, not me, and it's fine to be busy at work. Not a flame. It wasn't me that said you give lame advice to your customers. I have no idea, I just know you used to work there. You could have been the best salesman ever for all I know. Heck, I don't even know if you worked in sales. I've never met you in my life, I've just been exposed to you on that site and here.
I can dig up the 2 dead bull elk thread for you from here if you wish and post where you called me a "tool" and you called the Courier author a member of PETA. Remember that?? How's that for flaming?? I had a post deleted at fishin.com because you didn't like it not because it broke rules. I won't stand for folks to lie about what I've said. Once again I say, show me where I have flamed you one single time. If you can't, then quit saying it.

Ispinfish – “IT WILL Detract from the USE of Archery .. Vertical Bows.”
Willie – You mean like the compounds did back in the early 70s? Same crapola from the naysayers then too. Where would we have been if everyone had listened to them then?
Ispinfish – “People will chose the EASIER method and will NOT buy both”
.Willie – You mean like the compounds did back in the early 70s? Did you see the data in Ohio (I know Ohio is not Kentucky ;) ) that showed how many folks switch hit? Down in Georgia (I know Georgia is not Kentucky ;) ) they are seeing folks start with a crossbow and then buy a vertical bow. That is good, is it not?
Ispinfish –“Why have an archery in schools program”
Willie – Why not? How does someone shooting and hunting with a crossbow detract from Archery in Schools?
.
Ispinfish –“Crossbows are NOT Archery equipment..”
Willie - Correction - There are many, many BOWHUNTING groups that don't call crossbows archery. Why? To protect their own little playground.
In the majority of the world the answer would be yes, they are archery equipment.
Only in the United States do you get some backwards thinking bowhunting organizations that don't think that. Of course they are "protecting their own".
THE NAA - the OLDEST archery organization have recognized crossbows for about 60 years. The International Bowhunters Organization has had a crossbow division for several years AND growing every year. THE NFAA now recognizes crossbows at its VEGAS championships. Atlantic City had crossbow divisions for years, that shoot was recently acquired by the NFAA, but its crossbow division is several decades old.
The Archery Trade Association and its predecessor, the Archery Manufacturers Organization recognizes crossbows as archery equipment.
So does most retail dealers- almost every shop that sells archery equipment and guns have crossbows in the archery department, not the firearm counter. Go into Bass Pro or Cabela’s or Dicks or Gander Mountain and see where the crossbows are kept. Hint – they are not in the gun section
Every archery catalog I get from the retailers has crossbows in it. Bow and Arrow Magazine carries crossbow advertising.
Now with compound bows - The International Olympic Committee doesn't recognize compounds as archery equipment. The PAN AMERICAN games don't recognize compounds as archery equipment. Neither does some of those ultra elitist, head up the butt, groups like Comptons Traditional. The vice –president of Comptons called compounds MACHINES. How about that?
Why have crossbows been welcomed at NAA sanctioned shoots many years longer then the compound bow? Hmm?
Several European countries don’t recognize any archery gear for hunting purpose. Thanks to bowhunters in England that complained that the crossbows were “inhumane” After a government study they ended up banning all archery hunting as “inhumane”.
I don't think we want to head down that path..
A crossbow propels an arrow from the fastly forward moving string powered by a set of bent limbs. The trajectory of the arrow is VERY similar. On the end of that arrow is the same broadhead that you can shoot. It kills that deer from lung collapse and blood loss.
Sounds like archery to me.
Ispinfish – “If killing is all we want to do then lets forget all of it and just use the MORE efficient GUN.”
Willie – I don’t recall anyone saying that “killing is all we want to do”. Post that up if you can find it. Listen very carefully – I hunt with a crossbow and have killed 7 deer in 4 years with it. I don’t find it a whole lot different that hunting with a compound – which I did ever since compounds came out. Contrary to your beliefs we still have to HUNT the deer even with a crossbow in our hands. Far form just “killing”

Ispinfish.... For a person that hunts with a crossbow you sure hate them a lot. I truly believe you are afraid more people will pick up a crossbow and whatever the perceived advantage ( which we all know is not there ) someone would learn the crossbow and kill a deer bigger than you ever have. It is all a matter of selfishness on your part.Your not protecting a tradition because bowhunters have broke tradition many times over. I have one question you need to address....you worked in a major sportings goods store correct... What department might I find a crossbow in as you keep stateing they are not archery equipment.
I know......... I will find them in the camping section hid behind the tents.

What post of yours did I delete on Fishin.com.... because I do not ever delete posts I dont like. The owner has on a couple of occasions deleted posts concerning Animal Rights Groups because he does not want them attacking the site.... Like they are KFC.
There were 5 different people with the authority to delete and of all of them I have deleted the fewest posts. ( you will have to e-mail me cause I am done here.. I would like to know though. Jimd072@aol.com )
AGAIN.. either your post flamed someone, or used foul language, OR someone asked for it to be deleted for a rules violation. OR as I said you brought up the subject the boss does not allow to be discussed.. Animal Rights in any way shape or form. His forum / his rules.
Do I have a passion. Yes.
Do I still believe that Archery will suffer from this yes.
Twist and turn all you want.. Take my offer of a compromise and snippets of what I said to support that, to use for your own AGENDA of promoting Crossbow usage....
I am done here. At no time have I used insults or slurs.. I did not partake in the discussion on the radio 2 weeks ago.. I have not insulted anyone here in this series of threads. (I may have made a comment or 2 in the Elk Thread.. I regret that and will apologize if I did) I have not slurred any one here.
Gone for good. This is not a discussion forum.. its an attack forum. I tried to work out a compromise and my words were used to say I was acting like John Kerry and to promote crossbow..I was not .. Agree to disagree... but this has become political in its nnature and I HATE POLITICS.

...whatever the perceived advantage ( which we all know is not there )...
OK, I have no dog in this fight but wouldn't most sensible folks agree that not having to draw while the deer is in range an advantage? No sense arguing that high let-off bows are the same as crossbows; because DRAWING 70lbs AND HOLDING 14lbs (a 70lb, 80% letoff bow) is not the same as the perpetual hold that crossbows have. If crossbows don't have an advantage over compounds, why are they just now allowing them for archery season?

Ateup;
I might not be the sharpest tack in the drawer but I will try and explain where I am coming from. Let do a anology and compare a modern compound to a crossbow.
Ease of use, first the ability to hold at full draw would have to go advantage crossbow.
Next the ability to manuver in a hunting situation. With the limbs being in a horizontal position you need a wide area in front of a crossbow in order to raise it for a shot, not so with a compound. Drawning a compound while hideing behind a bush IMO is easyer than raiseing a crossbow and making sure no obstructions those horizonal limbs will hit. Make sure those horizonal limbs don't hit brush or it will probably cause the shot to go astray... again advantage compound.
Not long ago there was a post where someone tried to fool a motion dectector by drawing a compound and raiseing a crossbow. They could fool the dectector with the compound but not the crossbow... again advantage compound.
Accuracy.... within reasonable yardage 20 to 30 yards both can deliever a broadhead with reasonable accuracy, beyond that the crossbow tend to drop off. As does the compound in the hands of the average bowhunter. This would be equal neither compound or crossbow with a advantage.
Range.... Being I have first hand experance with both I can with expertise say the compound in the hands of a good archer had a greater accurate range than most crossbow. The crossbow after 30 yards drops dramaticly. Mine at 150 lb draw has a 15 inch drop between 25 and 35 yards.... advantage again compound
Weight to carry....no doubt here the weight of the crossbow is most times double or more of a well equipped compound... again advantage compound.
Noise... anyone that has shot a crossbow and a compound will agree the compound is much more quite than the crossbow.... again advantage compound . I was taking a hunter education class a few years in order to get the orange card needed to hunt on a military reservation and one of the instructors made the comment his brother-in-laws crossbow was much quiter than his compound. I disputed that fact and told him to bring his compound in the next night and I would bring a crossbow and we coule compare the two. It only took one shot for the class to agree the crossbow was much louder than his compound ( and he had no silence devises on the string ) I ended up teaching the part of the class on archery.
As you can see the only advantage with a crossbow is being able to hold at full draw. I feel the advantages of the compound far outweigh the one advantage of the crossbow.
As to why they have not been allowed into the first part of the season. They have in several states and have for years, just not Kentucky. Those who felt needed a advantage over the firearm hunters worked the process and got a early season and more. Intruding on all deer seasons came later because of a small minority that wanted to hunt with bow and arrow instead of firearms. The gun hunters didn't raise a stink over this simply because they were wiling to share thier season, and like the survey ( I'm not sure they even took on at that time ) most voted neutral or didn't vote or didn't speak up giving the state the impression they didn't care one way or another.
Not reponsable for spelling errors.... to early in the moring for my old brain to function at full capacity

Jim, I have made no posts where I slurred you and then deleted. The only reason I posted the quote from your site in the first place was because I thought it showed an inconsistency in your own comments (which it did).
Thanks for the apology from your comments on the elk thread. Been a long time coming.
FWIW, I really don't care much about the crossbow issue, and I absolutely have NO AGENDA. If there was a gun to my head, and I had to vote, it would be yes. It doesn't really make a difference anyway since it passed.
I still haven't seen any posts of mine where I have ever flamed you, your family, your workplace, or your job performance.
Agree to disagree; how ironic, that's what I posted way back ago in the elk thread, but you sure wouldn't abide by that.
See you later, and hopefully, you are done slandering ME, because it's not like that vice-versa.

Willie - Absolutely nothing wrong with that. The non-passioned apathetic people are the ones that bother me. get involved no matter which side of the fence you are on. No room for post turtles in game management.
ISpinFish - "Do I still believe that Archery will suffer from this yes."
Willie - I take it from that you are referrring to "archery" hunting? ALL results from ALL the states that have legalized them says different. No negative impact - only positives. NO ONE is requiring anyone to bowhunt with an archery tool that they don't want to. The recurve hunter can still recurve hunt and the compound hunter can still compound hunt. NO EFFECT on them at all..
Three years after the legalization of crossbows in Georgia it has become a non-event.
