United Crossbowhunters of Kentucky

Gents, anyone interested forming a club for crossbow supportors, this is for you. I'll try to stay on top of this until we can have a election of officers and form the club properly.

For starters, we'll need at least 25 members before it will be worthwhile, IMO. I believe when the word gets out we can do that easily. You'll recieve a window decal for you vehicle and ATV and a membership card. Any other perks will be decided at the first organizational meeting that we have. we may well just meet on the Internet for now. If we are fortunate to geta supporter that can get us on the web, so much the better.

In the mean time, if your interested, shoot me a PM and I'll send you the info on joining. Dues will be $10 per year and will include LKS membership(gets you the LKS paper, the Kentucky Afield magazine and LKS membership card). The group will also have 2 votes at the convention in June. This should at least put us equal in terms with the UBK.

Any profit from this club will be used for promoting crossbow use in Ky. Any funds available after those expenses will go to the LKS's new fund set up for land purchases and leases, and other conservation projects.

I think this is a great idea. Even if you don't own a xbow and don't plan to, who knows what the future may hold. It is great that it appears xbowyers will be able to participate in "archery" season with the shooters of other types of archery equipment. But I think we need a statwide organization now especially to protect that new privilege xbowyers have to hunt alongside their archery brothers/sisters. And being affiliated with LKS is a big plus.

Allow me to be the first out of state member or at least Florida member. Can we be assured that the decal will at very least get our vehicle "keyed" at some public land parking spot? PM is on the way.

Mike, the ATV is on the same truck that my x-bow outfit from the manufacturer is on. I'm sure it'll get there any day now.

PM is on the way. That's what they sell insurance for. Old truck--new paint. Make sure you have comp and keep it paid up.

It's about time you boys put your money where your mouth is. I will be curious to see how long this new organization lasts. Most folks sing a big song but when it's time to pay the fiddler:(

Multi, you are a glutton for punishment. You know who will be an officer of this organization.:eek:

Anyway, the part about being a required LOKS affiliate is a good thing for sure. If you boys pull this off and become an affiliate of the LOKS then more the merrier. If you just want to start trouble and blow hot air then shame on the lot of you.

You boys have a good time, hell I'd join but I know someone would nominate for some type of officer position and I'm helping keep too many afloat now as it is....that, and I'm scared of 4 wheelers:D I guess I could give mine to Mike though huh?

Maybe down the road we can all have a 3d team shoot....the good guys[ubk] against the Huns[xbow of Ky]:rolleyes: :p :D

You are a much more personable chap now that you have ONCE AGAIN mastered the smiley faces. I had just about given up on your past diplomatic lessons.

If you send my dues in then it would be poetic justice as we have both done that at times:cool:

I say we BOTH better start a fund raiser for more public hunting ground as it looks like we BOTH may need it:D

Heck, that's where we both basically started anyway. Better deer management and more public hunting.;)
