Big Flocks!

I was just in Grayson this past weekend and there were huge flocks of birds out in the fields at the camp I hunt. This should be a good year! Are they out in the fields more this year because there was no acorns last fall? If this is the case shouldn't we see the average weight of the birds be lower this spring? Enjoy the warmer weather down there! It's been in the low teens with about 2-6" of snow a day for the last 4 days here in NY!

been my experience that this time of year the turkeys are out n the fields moere than any other time. could be 'cause the mast wasn't so great, but i think its natural for this time of year. i mean you got to figure that every acorn in the woods is gone by now. also, i think turkeys feel safer in fields (especially in numbers) 'cause they can see so well. BTW, u talkin grayson KY or grayson co.? and oh, a big 'PERSHIATE YA' for the pic :)
