Another test pattern by Nitro 4x5x7 with a 2 inch rhino hevi shot choke tube. The gun is the new 20 inch 12 guage Mossberg 835. The shell and choke combos are really good. As I have stated two or three times already, 2 shots, 2 turkeys = 9 bucks!

This shot was at 45 yards.

silly question here but I've always wondered about the duplex loads, and this one sounds like a triplex load(or whatever you call it). If you have different sized shot then they weigh different amounts and travel at different speeds. I don't know what these differences are, but I'd be concerned at how they perform on a live turkey at long ranges. If the smaller shot hits the target first because it's faster, could it knock the target away before the heavier slower shot is all on target? Probably stupid idea, but it's always concerned me. I know you would have a really long shot string compared to a load of shot that all weigh the same.

Are they legal in KY? I thought you couldn't use anyting smaller than # 6 shot.

Nothing larger than #4 shot can be used to harvest a turkey. It states that common shot sizes for turkeys are 4, 5, 6.

I have a 835 mossberg with a accu-mag choke I guess it is factory. My question is should I buy a different choke?

Pends on what you want. Your gun will kill turkeys fine. Just a matter of preference.

The larger shot will actually get to the target first...All the shot will come out of the barrell at the same speed...Rather it be 1200, 1300 fps...The larger shot of a greater weight is harder to slow down than the smaller shot of less weight, giving the larger shot more energy/speed/hitting power downrange....Thus, more effective!

Now, as far as the first pellets knocking the target outta the way...I ain't got no idea and had never even thought about that one!!! I think the pellets are traveling so fast that that turkeys head ain't gotta chance to get outta the way!!
