Here is the pattern of a 40 yard shot with the Nitro 4X5X7 hevi shot load and a Rhino 2 inch hevi shot choke tube. Benelli Super Black Eagle. This is a 10 inch circle. A gobbler moves his head around all the time in a circle of about 10 inches. If I pull the trigger and he moves his head, you can see that it won't matter. He's dead!

That is 201 hits in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards!

as of a week ago, i had never heard of these "nitro" shells. guy at work brought one and showed it to me friday. today, he brought two targets he had shot. one had 58 pellets at eighty yards. sounds hard to believe but it was covered up. another had an uncountable amount at 40 yards. can't remember the name of the choke but one he tried didn't do half as good as the other. :)

I've heard of them. I think they're like $50 a box though:eek:. I guess they would last a while though.

I've seen them, and also seen the high price. But I guess if you only use one shell a year, it will even out.

Very nice. I got 218 hits in a 10 inch circle at 40 taped yards from the new Hevi-13 shell in #6 shot. It's only a 3 inch shell. I thought that was awsome also. I was using a Hastings choke in a Remington gun.

Where did you pick up the Hevi 13? I received an email from Environmetals about it but havn't seen it in a store yet. That is the best pattern I have heard of from a factory load.

You can buy it from Cabelas or from the Company (Environ). I would get it from Cabelas because it's just a little cheaper there. The picture in the catalog shows the old HeviShot box, but I ordered some and it really is Hevi-13. I got the 1 5/8 ounce #6. I posted some pics on another web-site. CEO...The Hevi-13 can be bought from Cabelas...So far, thats the only place I've heard that has it. The pic in the Cabelas magazine is a pic of a regular Hevi-Shot box...I haven't ordered any myself...But do know folks who have ordered it.

The new Winchesters (Xtended), I think, are gonna be the load to watch. I talked to some folks from Kicks Ind. the other day and they said these loads patterned "Awesome". I've heard about and seen several patterns from these new Winchesters...250 hits in a 10" cirlce at 40 yards...With 5 shot, 3½" load...Being the best I've heard about...Didn't see it, just heard that...Haven't patterned them myself, but I do have a box settin' and waitin' for better weather!

Nitro will have to watch out if factory loads are getting 200+ hits in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards. I just wonder if you can do it with any old gun like you can with Nitro.


Lab Lover patterned some of those Winchesters, maybe he can tell us or post up his results.
