Well this is my first year of really trying to take a few ducks
I have done all my hunting in Lake Cumberland area Wayne and Clinton
Co. mostly hunting farm ponds I havent had much luck at all I guess that is hunting hopfully I can find me some more ponds to hunt and figure out how to attract more ducks to use them
as far as geese I have only saw one flock flying this year ususally I see 15 - 20 flocks a year flying but not this year although some workers near my home saw a few flocks flying over 2 weeks ago and said they were kinda high
there is about a 30 acre cover crop field there wonder if I put out some rag decoys If I could get them to within shooting range ? what do you think ?

Ducks seen hunting about 50
geese seen hunting about 20 1 flock

This was a terrible year. We ended on a good note today though. 5 of us killed 28 ducks and 3 geese. I got a banded greenhead which was the first of the year. We killed 19 mallards, 7 gadwalls and 2 shovelers. We saw a 200-300 ducks and probably about 300-400 geese.
I think the year totals are about 140 ducks and 30 geese in regular season. That is about 1/3 of our normal year. Honestly I am glad it is over and we can start thinking about turkeys. By the way, we hunted a Fayette Co. farm pond that was frozen and we opened up about a 30 yard hole. The farthest duck we shot was 15-20 yards out.

Glad you had a good day Tim. I noticed some blacks and mallards on a pond yesterday, first ducks I've seen since before Christmas. I didn't even hunt this year other than an am hunt in western KY on Obion Creek WMA, killed 2 woodies, and the September goose season.
