I got a brand new 2 dog classic 70, it works good, but man I got a 1 dog trashbreaker that they can't get away from in these mountains. I guess it depends on if you have deep hunting dogs, and what kind of terrain you're in.

i wouldn't have a dog that my one mile unit won't reach. you can't tell what they are doing when they are out of pocket. they might be doin it right.
go here http://www.angelfire.com/tn/AmazingTreeingCurs/huntwithstyle.html
then here http://www.angelfire.com/tn/AmazingTreeingCurs/tritronic.html
have Jimscut2@aol.com order you a classic 70XLS with however many collars you want.
you will not be disappointed. in some things you get what you pay for. this is one of them.
this guy saved me nearly $100 on mine from anywhere else i could get one. he also saved me about the same on a tracker classic 2 dog tracking unit.
trust me, i already spent the hrs. researching these products AND where to get them.
I went to bass pro and heard the clerk tell a customer..."We only see tritronics twice, once when people buy them and once when their kids come in and ask if you can get them another one just like it. We Never have any problems with the tritronics just all the others"
do what ya want.

Check into the new Sportdog 1800. They are 3/4 mile range collars but the TriTronics are only 1 mile collars under "ideal" circumstances too, and most times you have to have a flexible antenna attached to the receiver (not on the classic 70).
The SD-1800 would save you some money and they are excellent collars. Waterproof receiver AND transmitter, not just water resistant. They also come with a LIFETIME WARRANTY.
They have a high stimulation model which is what I run on my Chesapeake. They don't have it listed under their normal SD-1800, you have to ask for it but it is the same price.
Check gundogsupply.com for prices regardless of what collar you decide on. He has about the best prices anywhere and it's normally sitting on your doorstep within 2 days, a lot of the time by the next day and he pays the shipping.
