1/11 hunt - maybe the last but pretty decent anywa

Had a decent morning. We killed 10 mallards and 3 black ducks. We should have killed 4-5 more, but our shooting wasn't too strong. The kicker of the day was that my band streak kept up. This time it was a double banded greenhead with a $100 reward band. I have gotten 3 banded mallards in the past two weeks. Saw many less birds than expected and virtually no geese. They all either left this area over night or were sitting tight on some big water somewhere. The hunting here will really slow down as all of the ponds will be locked up solid. This might possibly be my last hunt of the year unless we get a major thaw. Oh well...it was fun while it lasted...

You had a great run if in fact, it is over! I know guys that have been hunting for years and still don't have a band. Again, congrats!
