Hey, fellow turkey hunter's , my new question is about the turkey chokes in shotguns. I have a Mossberg model 500, 12ga and it already has a Accu-choke in it so do I really need to buy another choke or should I wait and pattern my gun first and see how it shoots and what yardage should I start at 20, 30 etc. Thanks
If you know some one with an after market choke you could try both at once to see which works better in your gun.You never know your choke might pattern pretty good.Mine didnt.I also have a mossberg 500 and the best patterns I got was with an truglo extreme choke. It was cheap too.

Totally varies. I use the factory Accu-Mag extra full turkey choke in my Mossberg 835 and it patterns great. I know people with that same model that would tell you that theirs patterns terribly. The only way to find out with your particular gun is to try different chokes, but unfortunately, that can get expensive. Start with the cheap ones.;)
