Had another excellent hunt today. When we got to our pond, about 50 ducks flushed. Then 5 minutes before legal time over 100 mallards landed in our hole within 20-40 yards. They flushed a couple of minutes later when we turned the dog loose on them. Then about 5 minutes after legal they started trickling back in in groups of 2-12. Three of us killed our 12 mallards, and I killed a black duck, in about 40 minutes. We had a first timer with us or it would have been a lot quicker. The best thing is that the pond is surrounded by trees that are actually in the water. We just leaned up against trees, and it was like shooting a hole in flooded timber. A very nice morning.
