Just thought I'd give some of you hard core turkey hunters the fever. I just got a new 700 acre farm to coyote hunt on near the Edmonson/Grayson Co line. I took my cousin for his first time Saturday, (which he couldn't be still enough) and everytime I poured it on the howler or distress call there was gobblers gobbling everywhere. Them creek bottoms was echoing with gobbles. I've never been a hard core turkey hunter. Just can't seem to get an adrenaline rush like I do with deer and coyote. I usually just camcord for my buddies. Anyway I don't believe I've ever heard them gobble this early.

Hoping to hear one pretty soon. Of course it might help if I had time to get out there and listen.

I heard 3 Sunday morning here on the west end of the state. No hard gobbling. Just a few from the roost. Good to hear none the less.

The season is definitely getting closer. I was out both Saturday and Sunday but didn't here any gobbles here in SE KY. In the "for what it's worth" department, my tame hen turkeys started laying eggs this week.
