OK, I know this was discussed last year, but what is the best stuff to put out? I want to attract some deer in close to watch, as well as
helping with antler development.
Thanks..

MY best results have come come from a mixtureof 50lbs. trace mineral, 10lb of powered lime, and 5lb of baking powder. I premix it and then dig up the ground in a three foot circle and put the mix down on top of this, being sure to locate it within three foot of a good trail. If you want less work, buy a 50lb trace mineral block and set it on a stump near a trail.

Highbow- How long will this last with 5-10 deer working
on it? Also when should a person start this?

It will last four about three months with regular use, they will start to eat some of the dirt with it and dig it into the soil then as you add to it they also will drink the water that is in the hole, when the leaves start falling in the hole use a rack to keep the hole from getting block off with leaves , they seem to slow the use if they pile up over the mineral and useage will slow down in fall anyway.

Thanks Highbow. I'll give it a try. It will be a good
project for my daughter.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
