Hadn't heard from any of you in a while, catching any fur? I'm getting mine ready for the sale at E-town on the 12th.

I've got 45 coon, 6 coyotes, 1 red fox, countless oppossums, skunks, and cats that never left the woods, 1 mink and 4 muskrats. The only fur making the sale are the coons, mink and rats. I'm hoping the coons average close to last year's money. But all in all it's just another hobby to get out of the house.

sounds like you had a pretty good season.for those that havent done it the feeling you get as you head out on a frosty morning headed for those sets that you just know is going to catch you some fur is an excitment in a class of its own...i would always get up eat a healthy breakfast and head out with very high hopes even if the past days/weeks were blanks..
let us know how the market treated you

Sold some fur yesterday at the E-town sale. Had 25 average coons that went through at about a $10 average. Most other prices were down a little from last year. There were about 10 buyers competing for the fur.

Tops on reds was $23, coyotes $18, bobcats $62, otters $75. Don't quote me on the prices because I didn't listen that close to every lot of fur auctioned. I'll get the figures soon and post the exact $$$$.

I've got some fur left to sell that I'm going to ship to NAFA. Everybody is starting to ship fur because the Furtakers sale is before the season ends. Remember that you can't retain fur from one season to another, you have to get rid of it 20 days after the season closes.

Sas,

I didn't watch many beaver go through, just one sale that my buddy caught. His top was $15.50 and down from there. The medium beaver sold for the same as the blankets.

310,

Had fun talking trapping at the sale. Quite interesting sale. It's good to know that prices can be better than what I get locally. Ended up with 37 coons, 11 beaver, too many possums to count and several cats that didn't have bobbed tails(collateral damage). We'll talk later.
