I just planted 10 allegeny chinquapins. Got them from empire chesnuts. Good people to deal with they sell chestnuts as well. I got the chinquapins because they are smaller tree/bush and should produce nuts on their 3rd year and by 5-6th year should be producing 1500-2000 nuts per tree. They supposedly are easy to grow from seed so I plan to spread some around once they start producing.
