quick meal here.....pretty darned tasty too....took 2 boxes of great value dirty rice mix and 2 pounds of deer steaks cut into strips like fajita meat, marinated in allegro game tame , cooked rare in oil, garlic salt and pepper then made the dirty rice mix and cooked all that together......the rice calls for ground beef so i substitutes the deer strips ......took about a half hour and made a big pot.....which is now empty...lol

Marc, I found the allergo at Kroger's last night. I picked up two boxes of Zatarians Dirty Rice and I'm going to try it tonight. But I'm using elk instead of deer steak.

R,,, You better rethink that trade off !!! I would SMOKE that Elk lightly. Serve the rice on the side with some gravy on it.

I use my deer burger with the Zatarans and it is very good. I tried a recipe someone posted here that involved pounding tenderloin then dredging in Grey Poupon Dijon mustard, breading and frying. It turned out really well. I crockpoted a roast with Lipton Onion soup mix and that was really good too.
I'm always looking for new ways to prepare venison, keep them coming.

After what you cooked this weekend for the kids, I have to agree. Those were the best beans I think I ever ate. You could sell them my friend. That smoked deer tenderloin was pretty darn good too!!!!
