For those of you who trap alot(K-9), what brand lure do you use?

Last year was my first year and I managed to get one grey on jack mackerel, but this year im takin it more serious, and want to learn the game. Iv caught two greys(same night)on the new lure's that I ordered(hawbakers& Lenon's), but still curious if anyone has a prefference?

Warden310, what brand do you use on the yotes?

Any info is greatly appreiciated, as I am only a begginer!!!

Thanks

I went to the trappers' college in Indiana this past September. While there I spoke with Gary Jepson, South Dakota coyote trapper about lures. He is regarded as one of the nation's best lure makers and coyote trappers. He broke the season down into sections: family groups, dispersal, rutting. Use curiosity or food based lures during the family or dispersal times. Then use the gland or call lures when the rut kicks in gear. Also use skunk-based K-9 lures when trapping in real cold weather because the stronger smell carries better in the cold.

I've been using food based lures now and doing great on coyotes. I've set for 8 nights with less than 10 traps (footholds) and caught 3 coyotes. I've also been catching lots of coon with Lil Grizz traps w/ marshmallows and peanut butter. I don't think a particular brand of lure is far superior than others. I do believe in using different lures at sets when trapping the same farm. If I had a farm with 10 traps set, I might use 4 or 5 different lures. I use Q-tips cut in half, dab in the bottle and down the dirt hole.

Are you catching those greys in the woods? I don't catch many but think they are beautiful foxes.

thanks for the input fellers!

Warden those greys came from feilds that are surrounded by woods and thickets. One of them actually was caught between two barns.

I will try to get my pics developed soon, and maybe try to post, if I can figure out how.
