CO's from the Dale Hollow area and other nearby counties told a friend of mine last week that the hogs are gone from those areas. They said that none had been taken or reported as being seen this deer season. They said there might still be a few around but they were way back in and hard to find if they were still around.

I would love to go. I just got back from Florida and decided that will be my next hunting trip, but hunting in tenn sounds alot better because it is closer to me. If you are looking for someone to tag along, let me know....sounds like a great time.

I have a pic of a wild hog on my farm in Metcalfe Co. Folks that have seen the pic say it is a Russian Boar. They say they are migrating north from Cumberland Co. Also there was an article in the local paper where a man from Park City (near Mammoth Cave) killed a Russian Boar in his back yard.

Good luck on the hunt!

[:D]Yeah, He really does,..... He was gonna poke at my hog a year or so ago, and then......

Well nevermind, I'll let Rainman tell the story. I'll just say it was truly priceless.

I saw one a fellow killed in SE Clark County a couple of weeks ago. He saw it a few times & called the landlord & asked if there were any hogs on the farm...was told no & to "killhit". He did. Looked to be about 20" tall & would weigh, my guess, about 35lbs. Had tusks about 2.5" to 3" long. Looked like one of those Vietnamess pot bellied pigs with tusks. I got one in TN several years ago, but it didn't look like this! Didn't know we had such around here.

I chased one around Morgan county in ML season about 5 years ago. It was a hog that had gone feral. A neighbor killed it a few weeks later. This hog was as wild as any deer.

Redneck...I saw the article in the Barren Co. Progress

Raktrakr...Cumberland Co.Ky....A Fish & Game Official suggested to me that is where they may be coming to Metcalfe Co. from. I have no proof, just his suggestion.

Once hogs get a hold in an area they are almost impossible to get rid of. Hunting alone (without dogs/trapping) is not going to do it. If there are hogs in an area and not being seen, it is probably because they are almost completely nocturnal. We have had quite a few of them around here for about 12 years and I have only saw 2 in the daylight (without dogs or in traps).

I am from Englewood, Tn and have hunted here all my life. Pickins are getting slim. I am looking for a new place to hunt where I can bring my own dogs...anywhere in USA. Does anyone out there know where I can go?
