I leased a field in Ballard this year and put up a blind on the only little hole of water we have so far. We hunted Friday but could only open a small hole in the ice. Went back yesterday as things thawed out and found that the fine sportsmen who hunt the public land on the refuge had used my blind and stole my dekes. Some fine hunters, here! Don't let me catch you!

Mossy,
Where is your field located and what kind of decoys? I was born and raised here in Ballard and know or know of just about everyone around here. Most everyone around here are good honest people, but some are very well known for pulling stupid stuff like this. I'll keep my ears peeled. Sorry about your loss.

I'm immediately south of the Little Clark Track. The refuge has a pit on that tract and I think people are assuming my blind on the other side of the field belongs to the refuge. I had Flambeau water keel mallards with my name and phone number on them. I'd appreciate anything you can find out.

I'm finding the ducks tough right now and the geese won't give me the time of day. Are you having any luck?
thanks!
Kenny

I hear ya! Ducks are tough around here right now. I haven't heard of any significant kill #'s yet. This just might turn out to be alot like last year.......let's hope not.[:(]

It's got to get better. I think Chris Drummond is the only one killing birds right now. I hunted out of his pit Monday and didn't fire a shot. Of course he wasn't there to call 'em in for us. Maybe it's just me!
