Go see Eugene Groce in Albany, KY 606-387-5698. In my opinion he has some of the best dogs in the state. He has almost 50 acres in some real nasty running pens and he trains all year long and sells some top-notch young running dogs at a very reasonable price. I will say at first they handle very poorly, but they are smart and learn quickly. I did get one that was a little gamy, but was fixed fairly quickly. My friends and I have purchased at least 20 different dogs in the last 5 years from other people, but the first two I bought from him remain better than the rest. In a search for a great dog we were purchasing field trail champions and grand champion pups and all those papered and trophy dogs, but in time I learned my lesson because none were nearly good an all around dog as his little grade dogs. So, I went back this summer to Eugene and got a young male that is now kicking all their tails (except the original 2). Now we have 3 of Eugene’s dogs left and a couple of others to make noise and the rest are gone. I can’t say enough about these dogs in comparison to others that I have personally purchased or seen. I’ve been to the field trails and seen many different types. I’ll admit there are guys out there that might have better stock, but they rarely sell the good ones to strangers or nonfield-trailers, but Eugene will. You can watch numerous dogs work in the big pen till you find the one you like. This time of year he may be low on dogs, but he always has new ones coming up. Eugene is a retired school principle and a real nice guy to talk to. Tell him Sean Purser from Louisville gave you his number – I get nothing but knowing that I helped you and him, cause I don’t plan on buying anymore anytime soon, but I sure do like his style of dogs.

Oh an after thought, most run medium to medium-fast – but he does have some speed if you need it. What really impresses me is they jump rabbits like nobody’s business and they really hate a rabbit. I'll email you also.
