I was interested in your opinion. We are considering starting a wildlife consulting business here in central kentucky. we would provide private landowners with a professional management plan to meet your goals. Hopefully in the future we are able to acquire equipment to plant food plots, etc. We are both degreed Wildlife Biologists from Eastern KY University striving to use our knowledge to improve wildlife habitat around Kentucky. All your input would be greatly appreciated. You can email me directly at wildlife4kentucky@hotmail.com
Thanks

F&W currently offers these services free of charge to the public, of course they do help develope the plan and reimburse for some of the money the landowner is out.

yes they do offer free plans but alot the times F&W does not have the time to put alot of time into it because of lack of personnel. I believe we would be able to provide more personalized management plans than what is offered by F&W. There are wildlife consultants in alot of other southern states and they do a very complete job and the landowner is very pleased with the outcome We are also looking at stream restoration, some nuisance control measures, etc.

Duckdawg is right. The ones handed out by F&W are general, fill-in-the-blank type plans (I'm not criticizing them, because they have an enormous workload, and the blanket plan definitely speeds up the process). But there is definitely room for a paid service that spends alot more time on the property and goes into alot more detail in the plan. Basically laying out a year-by-year plan over a period of several years. The actual implementation of the practices outlined in the plan is where many could really use the assistance.

It should be a good program and I wish you luck, every time one landowner makes a food plot or produces cover for game it helps us all.
