I had plenty of action today again, but the big boys stayed just out of range. I saw 18 does and 6 bucks, a fox, and a bunch of turkeys. I had one big eight point following a doe, but he took a short cut and stayed out of range. I saw a ten point and a couple other nice 8's, but just not close enough. The chasing was good in the morning and at night, but the mid-day hours were slow for the second day in a row.

And better than mine. 15 turkeys, 12 squirrels, and 1 forkhorn. The first buck of the year after more than a dozen hunts! But hey,... it's only got to get better!! Sounds like they're rutting?? up there??? I'm coming to WI for the opener of gun season. You got any word on Bayfield or Douglas Co.????

Bayfield and Douglas are a few hours north of where I am, but I'll see if I can't find some regional reports on the hunting up there. I know we just had a T-Zone season, so I'll see if there was any word on how many doe where shot anyway.

I appreciate that sixpack. Don't know what's going on w/ the deer there other than my buddy says he's seen some real dandies on his farm this year. I can't wait!! I'm pumped!!!

I guess there wasn't a T-Zone hunt up there, but the northern zone had about 12,000 does shot if that means anything to you. I will see if I can find anything else and get back to you on it though.
