Got drawn for area 18 1st weekend. This is the first time I've ever been drawn for Ft. Know so any tips or info will greatly be appreciated. Does anyone know anything about area 18?

18 at one time was my favorite area. It got logged hard since then. It's a tank driving area and has plenty of mud. You should be able to find some deer down behind the Cem. in the thickets there. Used to be plenty of persimmons there and honeysuckle. Or you could hunt over by the ammo dump fence?

Thanks alot for the info...would you suggest hunting out of a climbing stand or just stalking?

I prefer to stand hunt and let someone else move the deer. Pick a good funnel.

I figured that would be the best plan, since everyone will be going into the woods at about the same time. Thanks again Multidigits.

Definitely take a climber. You will be surprised at how few guys in your group will be carrying in a stand. At least that has been the case the last 5 yrs for me. I am with multi. let the beagles walk the area while I'm 16 ft up!

I know that I have a map and everything... but do you have any tips on how to get to the cemetary, and how do we know where to park? I just like to have a generalized idea about how everything is going to go...I like to be as prepared as I possibly can.

There's a road to the cemetary, but your not supposed to drive on it. You'll need to park on the road between 18 and 19, at the RR track crossing and hoof it back there. You can walk in from the front corner near 20 also. IT's about as broad as it is long. To be prepared is good. Scouting a spot out over the internet is a tuff one. You really need to go and look the area over for yourself. Any recommendations on here are just general help at best.
