Today was the second all day sit of the week, and although it was slower overall, I saw more deer. 19 does and 4 bucks, but I stayed dry today. The first buck of the day was a big 8 pointer that was very concerned about keeping a young doe all to himself. I got him to come in to about 29 yards, but he was looking straight at me, and I thought he would come a little further, so I waited to draw, and he spun around to go find his little lady. Another nice eight came in a little later after I did some rattling, but wouldn't commit all the way. I think I sometimes over do it with the calling when I can see them. I see them start going away, so I hit the call again, but I think I need them to work for it, or want it a little more instead of giving away my position, and then they don't see a deer there and move on. But hopefully the third day is a charm and I'll have some good news tomorrow night.

Sixpack....Try using a decoy, they work great. If you don't have a decoy you can also use a 3-d target. If you use one a buck will aproach a doe decoy from the rear and a buck decoy from the front most of the time, so think about that when setting it up. When I use a decoy I always use it as a doe.
That gives a deer that hears your calls a visual sighting of another deer and also keeps his atteneion away from you.
