Which has been more productive for you to bring in a buck that is searching for a doe.....a doe bleat(The Can) or a grunt call?
All that has ever worked for me is the grunt.

I have used the grunt calls by Knight & Hale but I took the tub off it sounds alot better. I haven't bought in any bucks yet but it seems to bring in the does. So I am wondering if the Can bleat will bring in the bucks ? Or sit there and wait and hope a shooter shows up.

How many grunt noises do you make at a time? Likewise with the can? How long do you wait before you grunt again?

I have had much sucess with the can. Called in a nice size 8 pointer which I harvested last year. I usally filp the can 2-3 x's. That is usally enough. With a grunt call usally grunt 3-4 long to short grunts.

I've had the best luck with grunt calls, just doing plain old non-aggressive contact grunts. The two calls I've had the most success with is the old K&H E-Z Grunter and the call I've been using for the last several years is the HS True Talker. The True Talker is responsible for the deer that's on my site (link in sig), as it was obvious he was coming toward where he heard the call and was looking for something, and then he was stopped for the shot with the True Talker. I've taken several other nice deer with the help of the True Talker and E-Z Grunter.
So far I haven't had any luck with bleats, either from my Primos Can or from tube type calls. The first year I used one though, I found out they're the ticket to scraring away non-estrous does ;)
How many times I call depends on what type of call I'm doing, but since contact grunts have been the most effective for me, I'll give them as an example. I do 3-5 soft and relatively short grunts (remember it's supposed to be non-threatening), with about 1-2 seconds between each grunt. I usually wait 20-30 minutes before calling again.
With doe bleats, I do 2-3 bleats, about 2-3 seconds apart, then wait 20-30 minutes.

I've had very little luck with the can, so I stick with the grunt call. I'll try and mix it up, usually carrying two calls, one set at a doe bleat, and one set on a young buck grunt. I'll usually start with three doe bleats within a minutes time, and then wait for 15-20 minutes before calling again. When the action is slowing down, and the doe bleats don't seem to be doing the trick, I usually mix in the buck grunts. I'll do a few drawn out grunts, and then some short grunts in rapid succession, like you would hear if a buck was following a doe. Through in some rattling and create a whole scene out there, and if you have scent out there, even better. Give them a bunch to think about, so they can't be thinking about you.

I have had luck with "the can" and also with the grunt call. I called a 6 point in to 15 yards last week with the can but he never presented my son a shot. I always carry the can, a grunt call and rattlin antlers with me.
