I have hunted in Area 2 a couple of times and love it. Saw a monster taken out of there 2 years ago. He was taken near the end of road #118 near the Cravens Bay Lake Access. The guy got way back from the road and shot him chasing does about 1pm. That buck was thin as a rail from chasing does! We saw lots of sign and several does but no bucks 2 years ago. Good Luck!

I've Been Hunting Lbl For Several Years Now... Actually, I've Become Somewhat Obsessed With The Place. I Have Couple Honey Holes In 2, Sorry I Can't Let The Cat Out Of The Bag On Where (hope U Understand). But I Can Tell U That There Is Quite A Bit Of Hunting Pressure Around The Fields. I Have Found The Most Success From Hunting Several Hundred Yards Away From Them. Also...no Acorns This Year. I've Been Hunting Bottoms W/lots Of Browse (honeysuckles, Etc.) Seen Several Deer. Good Luck!

Use the hunting pressure to your advantage.... Study the map. I've done alot of hunting there and one of the best ways I've tried is by boat or walk around the bay ttto where the nearest road iis a ways aaway. Huunters will hunt off the road and push the deer to you. Got a nice 11pt. that way.(my keyboard is messin up) lol. Hopen I was able to help.

I'll be hunting LBL Area 2 also and was wondering if anyone else had in suggestions about that area. It seems like everytime I've been to LBL there are several big deer taken in the power lines. Are there any power line cuts in that area?

Yes, there are a couple power lines that cut through area 2. Having hunted it before, take the advice of using the pressure to your advantage. If you are hunting the last weekend of the month you are going to be hunting post rut. You will want to focus on finding a food source and thick cover. Pressure will move a big buck more than anything at LBL.
Something else that will produce at LBL is finding a saddle in a ridge with sign that deer are moving over it. With LBL being 'big woods' you are not likely to find a trail that looks like a cow path either. Look for kicked up leaves, find tracks in the moist soil of ridges, etc.
