Chad,

I'd like to suggest that kentuckyhunting.com start prohibiting political and religious discussions. Its obvious that the regular posters here come from the entire political/religious spectrum and the influx of new posters "trolls" on both sides have reduced these discussions to nothing more than a huge "pissing match" that has taken much of the fun out of visiting this site.

KentuckyHunting.com has provided a valuable service in uniting the sportsmen of this state, but these divisive issues are of no benefit, and are actually detrimental, to these efforts.

Thanks for the consideration.

Chad,

I'm aware that is why you created the forum titled "Community Forum"(and I for one appreciate it very much!) and it says :

"This is the place to discuss all your non-hunting issues. Whether it be politics, religion, or current events, this is the forum for you"....

Although some discussions may appear(and even get) "heated" that IS going to happen on ANY/ALL important topics(important to that poster) including the "looks" of one's spouse , BUT is that a "bad thing"?

I do not think that it is ,and in fact most of the "hunting forums" I've seen(and I'm a member of quite a few others) have similar "sections" and I believe they serve as a place to discuss important issues for many of us that otherwise might miss important "news" etc.

The 2nd amendment for example is a "political issue" yet how can anyone NOT expect hunters/shooters to have an opinion on it???

Also(if I may), I can see NO good reason to "censor"(or remove) any forum; after all how many times have we all heard "if you don't like "such and such" don't read it, don't turn it on etc., why should THIS be any different?

I agree with GSP's post about the "community forum" being the place for such discussions, and have tried to keep any and all such posts(of mine) in the approriate place(as it should be)

I'm very happy to have a place to know where fellow KY sports men/women stand on the issues that are important to me; (and I seriously doubt that I'm alone on that) :)

Thanks for an AWESOME FORUM(and I really like the Linux platform)

I would like the posts to be somewhat more "civil"....but things "that run deep in one's mind" are usually NOT that civil???

IF we followed the original poster's opinion/values we would still be living under England's control??? Would we NOT??

That's what being free is supposed to be about isn't it? To voice one's opinion(s) and beliefs/feelings???

And also note that the original poster(after posting that) posted a "religious" thread(and political) I might add!!! :)

At any rate *I* hope that you'll allow it; and I'd also add, the amount of posts proves (to me at least) that there IS a place for us to post OUR feelings and hopes(and I think that's a good thing) :D

In my humble opinion, election views are approiate for the Community Forum. With the approach of the President's race, election themes dominated the CF and that is not good, but to be expected. Hopefully, with the election now over, they will die down to few if any for some time to come. If they bother you, (and some bothered me), then stay away and don't read the bothersome ones. Respect a person's right to post and don't hijack discussions just because they are opposite to your views. But something that I am oppose to is the use of derogatory and personal remarks aimed at posters by those that disagree with their views. In my opinion, such remarks should be deleted immediately no matter who posts them. There is no room among reasonable people for the person that must resort to personal attacks to make their point. If that is the only way a poster can win the argument then maybe that poster is in the wrong to begin with.

I respect someone who's passionate about their beliefs, even if they differ from mine. The time it gets bad is when people start hating eachother over it. Name-calling, cussing, flaming in general, are things that come usually from these heated topics. I can handle a heated discussion, but let's not flame eachother, it proves nothing.
